The two families who occupy the premises were evacuated quickly and no one was injured, according to the Montreal Fire Department (SIM).

Members of the two families have been relocated temporarily, it was said.

A second alarm made it possible to mobilize about sixty firefighters on the spot, thus preventing the spread of the flames of this fire, the origin of which seems accidental, in all likelihood.

Despite the rapid intervention of firefighters, the building suffered a lot of damage, added a spokesperson for the SIM.
