The body of a man was discovered on the shore of the St. Lawrence River in Lévis on Monday morning.
It was a passerby who was driving near Saint-Laurent Park, located on the street of the same name, who came across the body by chance, around 7:45 a.m.

According to the first information received by the Service de police de la Ville de Lévis (SPVL), the victim was a man. His identity, however, remains unknown.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ), which took over the file, indicates for its part that the individual would be in his sixties, subject to all reservations.
“We were able to determine that it was not a question of a person who was reported missing”, specifies Louis-Philippe Ruel, spokesperson for the police force.

According to the authorities, the body would not have spent much time in the water. The incident that led to the death of the victim would therefore have occurred in the last few days, at most.
Forensic identification will go on site to analyze the situation and better understand the circumstances of the man’s death.
