A cooking fire forced the evacuation of a residential building with eight units in the Pont-Viau sector, in Laval, on the night of Thursday to Friday.
The fire started around 1:30 a.m. in a dwelling on the 2nd floor of the building located on Boulevard Lévesque Est, near Rue Lahaie. The flames quickly spread to the upper floor and roof of the building.
The occupants of the apartments were evacuated and no one was injured, although some were ordered by the smoke, according to a spokesperson for the Service de police de Laval (SPL).
The firefighters of the City of Laval quickly brought the flames under control, while the Social Emergency was called to the scene for possible support for the victims.
There is no transport to the hospital, it was added.
