[PHOTOS] Lachute: two men found burned near a burnt down business

Two men, 18 and 19, were found badly burned not far from a renovation business targeted by a fire of suspicious origin in Lachute, in the Laurentians, on Friday morning.

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called around 3:45 a.m. to hear the start of a fire in a building on avenue Béthany.

Two young men were seriously burned, probably while trying to set fire to the old Coq-O-Bec rotisserie, transformed into a pizzeria, on Béthany Avenue in Lachute, around 4 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021.

Even if the firefighters’ intervention was quick to control the flames, the building that houses the business was heavily damaged.

Almost in the same period of time, two individuals who seemed in bad shape were located by the emergency services a few blocks away, precisely on Sydney Street, said a spokesperson for the Sûreté de Québec.
