The picketers arrived pumped up despite the November cold and took place in front of the offices of the Découvreurs School Service Center to convey their message, around 10 a.m.

Many of them protested at the corner of Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois and Rue Noël-Carter where they were encouraged by the resounding sound of motorists’ horns.

They demand a better composition of classes and a reduction in the teacher’s workload. The remuneration of employees in the field of education is also an important issue which hampers negotiations in the conflict.

In its latest offer, Quebec proposed a 10.3% salary increase over 5 years, as well as a lump sum of $1,000 paid once, the first year.

Remember that the union representatives of the Common Front, which brings together the CSN, the FTQ, the CSQ, the APTS, and the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ), had described the latest offer from the Treasury Board as “derisory and insulting.”
