The “Photo Hebdo” section returns, Friday, November 19, to a week of news in pictures.

They feel alone in the world. Looking tired and lost, thousands of men, women and children are trapped on the border between Poland and Belarus. Others find their way back to freedom and to school, under close surveillance. In the Philippines, around 100 primary schools, which had been closed since the start of the Covid-19, have reopened their doors.

Some prefer skipping school. Every year, on an Australian island, millions of crabs go to lay their eggs in the open sea. Other ballet of Colors, the recycled plastic straw factory in Bangladesh, offers a festival of nuances. In South Africa, two lionesses and their young do not need straw to enjoy the water they come to laze in the dark night. Finally, a tribute to Tom Stoddart, photographer who died Wednesday, November 17, with a photo taken in Sudan in 1998.
