Phoenix Open WM | Nick Taylor finishes second and reaches the PGA top 100

Nick Taylor’s second-place finish at the WM Open in Phoenix made Canadian golf history.


His $2 million purse is the largest ever by a Canadian in a tournament, even surpassing those earned in some victories, reflecting the general rise in purses on the PGA Tour this season.

His second place also allowed him to climb to 73e place in the world rankings, placing five Canadians in the top 100 for the first time.

Ontarian Corey Conners is the best of the group, in 37e place. Mackenzie Hughes (53)e), Adam Hadwin (63e) and Adam Svensson (69e) follow it.

Another Ontarian, Taylor Pendrith, is lurking just outside the top 100at 112e rung.

Hughes, Svensson and Taylor are 12e13e and 15e in the FedEx Cup standings, the PGA standings.
