A whole village rushing to a preview. “We can’t wait to see how they have valued our beautiful heritage”, explains Philippe Brugère, the mayor of Meymac, who was of course present at the event. Because here, the shooting of the film For honor was a great adventure last summer. For several weeks, the director and former rugby player Philippe Guillard posed his cameras, involving the inhabitants. Accompanied in particular by the actress Olivia Bonamy, he was back for the screening of his film, which will be released on May 3 in theaters.

Before the screening, the inhabitants reminisce about the days of filming. Some have lent their business, such as the bistro where several scenes were filmed, others have worked as an extra, and links have been forged. Much less impersonal than a studio shoot. “If we had been Americans, we would have built Meymac”, says Philippe Guillard. “Yes, but we would have been less lucky because we would not have discovered the inhabitants and there would not have been the same atmosphere”, replies Olivia Bonamy.

Rugby and solidarity

Shooting in a good mood, for a story full of humanity. That of two neighboring villages which are torn apart around the local rugby teams. Until the arrival of migrants housed here, who will inevitably upset the daily life and the certainties of the inhabitants.

For this new feature film, Philippe Guillard brought together Olivier Marchal, Olivia Bonamy and Mathieu Madénian. Corrèze, a land of rugby and humanity, is the setting for this story of integration through sport against a backdrop of steeple wars.
