Phil Collins: What illness is he suffering from?

The cult band of the 1980s Genesis has just concluded his farewell tour, The Last Domino this last March 26 in a very last concert given in London. A few days earlier, the group had settled in Paris for two exceptional shows at La Défense Arena. The famous leader of band British, Phil Collins appeared on stage in a wheelchair. His fragile health was no longer a secret… But by what evil is the singer eaten away?

It’s been nearly 15 years since the interpreter ofIn the Air Tonight dragged back problems (two operations in 2009 and 2015). Added to this is diabetes and pancreatitis which prevents him today from exercising his profession. “My vertebrae crushed my spinal cord because of the position in which I play the drums. It comes from years of practice. I can’t even hold chopsticks properly without it hurting. I even got into the habit of tying the chopsticks to my hands to manage to play” he had explained to the BBC last September. A terrible fall in his bathroom in 2017 had, it must be said, nothing arranged for the health problems of a man who was worn out in the practice of his art: the drums.”I would love to play… I can barely hold a drum stick with this hand, so there are some physical things that bother me… “he told The Guardian in September as well.

It is certain that the retirement of the English legend of music has already, and will still arouse, a great wave of emotion. Starting, of course, with his relatives. Coming to attend the last Genesis concert in London, Lily Collins paid tribute to her 71-year-old father. “Tonight marks the end of an era. Witnessing this last concert is undoubtedly the most beautiful memory of my life now, one that I will keep in my heart forever” had written the star by Emily in Paris on Instagram.
