(Winnipeg) Winnipeg police have charged former fashion mogul Peter Nygard with sexual assault and forcible confinement.
Winnipeg police say a person came forward with allegations dating back to 1993 about a sexual assault at Nygard’s head office in Manitoba’s capital.
Originally, no charges were laid in Manitoba, but the case was referred to the Saskatchewan Department of Justice for an independent review last year.
Nygard was arrested at the Toronto South Detention Center, where he is still being held on similar charges.
Nygard faces two sex charges in Quebec and nine in Ontario, dating back to the 1980s.
US authorities have requested his extradition on charges of sex trafficking and extortion in that country.
