“Peter and the Wolf” from Maison Eliza

Absoutely ! A “classic” in the proper sense of the term already, since it is about musical tale by Serge Prokofiev, “Peter and the Wolf”, and then because this story remains universal.

In a few lines, a reminder of history: Pierre, a small member of the Soviet communist youth, lives with his grandfather in the countryside. One day, a duck takes advantage of the open garden gate to escape and go swimming in the nearby pond. He argues with a bird, and arouses the cat’s lust. Pierre intervenes to chase him away and protect the duck, but puts himself in danger because of the roaming wolf.

The aim of this musical tale is tointroduce children to different musical instruments, because each character is associated with an instrument. For example, the bird: the transverse flute, Pierre: the string quartet, the cat: the clarinet, the hunters: timpani and bass drum… Listen in our podcast to what happens.

I specify that the story is told by Dominique A, that the music is interpreted by the Orchester National des Pays de la Loire, and the illustrations are by Lilie La Baleine.

The book is edited by Maison Eliza, that’s his name ! It is a solidarity publishing house, which for 5 books sold, offers a book to a child who does not have access to culture.

The books are published on paper from sustainably managed forests. And the books, (here, book-CD) are good qualities and intelligent. Doesn’t that make for qualities?

A very, very nice gift for young children from 2 years old!
