PETA condemns the use of fur at Louis Vuitton

(Paris) The association for the defense of animal rights PETA condemned Thursday the use of fur in the first collection of Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton presented Tuesday in Paris, judging that such pieces had their place “only in a history museum.

“Rather than being the innovative designer that Louis Vuitton desperately needs to keep up with the times, Pharrell Williams presented a collection that only belongs in a history museum,” said Tracy Reiman, executive vice president of PETA United States in a press release.

“If mutilating animals makes Williams”happy“PETA hopes his time at Louis Vuitton will be as fleeting as the lives of the animals who suffer from his horrible fashion sense,” she continued, alluding to the global success. Happy of which the new creative director of the men’s collections of Louis Vuitton is the author.

Contacted by AFP, Louis Vuitton did not react immediately.

In a letter addressed to Mr. Williams, PETA United States asked him to proscribe fur and reptile skins, recalling that other houses like Chanel “have stopped using fur and exotic skins”.
