USAP lost to the Lions in the Challenge Cup – (France TV)
The Catalans started their European season in the Challenge Cup with a defeat on Sunday against the Lions (12-28).
The Challenge Cup began for Perpignan, who faced the Lions, Sunday December 10 during the first day. But the Catalans lost at home against the South African team (12-28). Usap is off to a bad start to its European campaign in Pool B, also made up of Montpellier, Treviso, Newcastle and the Ospreys.
The Lions were precise in front of the poles thanks to Jaden Hendrikse and his seven penalties scored (out of eight attempted), while the Harlequins only took four. The South African scrum-half also converted the only try of the match, taking his team to the final victory.
In the other meetings of French clubs, Clermont, Castres and Montpellier won respectively against Edinburgh (31-18), the Llanelli Scarlets (34-16) and Newcastle (24-19), while Pau, against the Sharks ( 5-45), and Oyonnax, against the Newport Dragons (7-24), lost.
