First 42 kilometers
The athlete is a regular at competitions, but on the track. European champion in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 2014, Yoann Kowal ran 1,500 meters, 10,000 meters, but never such a long distance as he will have to do this Sunday. So to be ready, he trained for more than four months. “It can be both exciting, but at the same time frustrating because I am someone who likes to program everything, to configure everything in life and in my career, and there I did everything that had to be done. for a marathon, only you can’t run a marathon in training, otherwise it’s a competition”explains the athlete.
This race in London will be a test, he says so himself. “You shouldn’t be like on the track with a knife between your teeth wanting to explode because that’s the profile I have a bit: being too generous. A marathon, you can control it, you run it on the detention.” Tomorrow, in the streets of London, he hopes to complete the race in 2h13.
