Périgord movers are short of arms

Olivier Paulet, responsible for the Lamothe removals, in Boulazac, was the guest of the New Eco, this Tuesday, in the 6/9 of France Bleu Périgord. The moving sector is overwhelmed with work but it lacks hands. Blame it on the Covid and the lack of candidates to replace unavailable employees. Lamothe removals has seven movers, a sales assistant and a secretary. The company ran into trouble when four of the seven movers ended up at home.

The interim does not follow

Difficult to postpone moves that are sometimes planned for weeks or even months. Some customers understand the situation and can adapt. For the rest, you have to call on temp agencies but, notes Olivier Paulet, “they cannot find handlers. People who want to work are afraid of getting hurt. It’s a job that doesn’t have the coast

There is no shortage of work. Olivier Paulet says he is overwhelmed with work. He who works in France but also in Europe and for export sees that there are a lot of movements. City dwellers move to the countryside.

Costs are rising. There is gasoline that weighs more and more. The price of raw materials soars for a company that uses cardboard or bubble wrap.
