“Perfect on screen”, a new song for Karkwa

Thirteen years after the release of their last original record, The glass pathsQuebec rock band Karkwa made the eyes of a whole generation of music lovers shine on Wednesday morning by releasing the music video for a brand new piece.

The piece, titled Perfect on screenwas first broadcast on the site specializing in music Le canal auditory and will be posted on the various digital platforms of the formation this Thursday at dawn.

The five members of Karkwa — Louis-Jean Cormier, François Lafontaine, Julien Sagot, Stéphane Bergeron and Martin Lamontagne — offer on this new piece a hybridization of the strike force of the group and the textures and rhythms of Cormier’s solo journey.

“At the edge of the drama we want her / She feels alive”, can we hear there. The clip of Perfect on screenby Charles-Antoine Olivier and Xavier Bossé, features the actress Pascale Bussières in a frontal and close-up sequence shot.

Karkwa had reformed in 2017 for a benefit concert for the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée, whose main facilities had been hit by a fire.

The flagship group of the Quebec alternative scene of the early 2000s released four original albums. In 2012, an album recorded in show had been their swan song.

Karkwa has won five Félix in his career, in addition to having won the Polaris Prize in 2010, an award given to the best record in Canada. The group remains to this day the only French-speaking recipient of this important award.
