“One infection = one injection.” The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, unveiled a relaxation for people who contracted Covid-19 after receiving two doses of the vaccine. They will now be able to keep their vaccine pass, even in the absence of a booster dose, he said on BFMTV, Wednesday, February 2. “If you have had one injection and two infections, if you have had two injections and one infection – whether before the injections, in the middle or after – and if you have had three injections of the vaccine, you will retain the benefit of the pass”, he detailed. At this stage, no time limit is mentioned, “unless a limit is set if the situation changes”.
“To benefit from the vaccine pass, our immune system must have been stimulated at least three times”justified Olivier Véran, relying on the Council of orientation of the vaccine strategy. “A stimulation can be a vaccine injection or an infection.” But be careful, a person who has been infected three times will not be able to claim the vaccine pass because “at a minimum, one must have received a dose of vaccine to boost immunity.” The device is certainly relaxed, but the minister still recommended to the French, whoever they are, to benefit from a third dose.
The alleviation of the constraint of the vaccination pass or its abolition is possible “if things go better”also assured Olivier Véran. “The end [du dispositif]we know it, it’s July”said the minister. “But if we can remove the front pass, we will.” The government will rely on “relevant indicators” such as “the occupancy rate of intensive care beds by Covid patients”.
