On Monday, April 8, the total solar eclipse crossed Mexico, 15 American states and ended its course in Canada. In Waco, the eclipse lasted the longest, 4 minutes and 13 seconds. Families came from across Texas, Louisiana and around the world to witness this perfect alignment of the Sun, Moon and Earth.

“It’s cool, it’s a great and inspiring experience that touches everyoneenthuses Daniel Fasst who came with his whole family. But you can’t relive it, like climbing a mountain, you’ll have to look for it next time if you want to relive the experience.”

Everyone reacted in their own way: the birds went to bed before realizing that the Sun was coming back, while the automatic street lights turned on in the face of this darkness. And suddenly it was ten degrees cooler. Meghan is still overcome with emotion: “My daughter and I cried. I can’t explain it, I was overwhelmed by what I saw and it brought me to tears.”

Many telescopes were deployed to capture this moment. For Kari Mrozoski it was obvious, the children had to miss school to witness this phenomenon: “I’ve never seen this before ! Especially since the next total eclipse in this region is planned for in twenty years. It’s a real chance for my children to be able to learn and experience such a phenomenon.”

When schools in the region did not close, it was parents who encouraged them to skip school to experience this live natural science experience. After the eclipse, the children resumed their games, as if nothing had happened, but this experience will still remain engraved in them.
