As provided by law, these pensions are indexed each year according to the average of the consumer price index (CPI) published by Statistics Canada.

This adjustment, carried out each year, protects pensions against the risk of inflation, which has affected Québec for several months.

The people who are affected by these changes are those who receive retirement, surviving spouse, invalidity, disabled child and orphan pensions.

A Quebecer must, however, have contributed sufficiently to the Québec Pension Plan in order to benefit from these benefits.
