The pension reform arrives in the Senate with a review scheduled until March 12. The debates should be less stormy than in the National Assembly, but the senators intend to impose themselves and go faster, in particular on the special regimes.
I’deed II of the reform of retreats will be played out in the Senate. The text will be examined in committee on Tuesday February 28, and in the hemicycle from Thursday. In total, there will be two weeks of debate. The right and the centre, in the majority, are in favor of the reform, but they want to change it. For the Head of State, the government will be attentive to the suggestions of the Senate. “I saw that they wanted to move things forward on family policy and women’s rights (…) and therefore I hope that the Senate can enrich this text with what it considers useful”said Emmanuel Macron.
Tighten the text for SNCF and RATP
According to Les Républicains (LR) in the Senate, the reform must better take into account the situation of mothers. For those who have a full career, LR offers two options: a surcharge of 5% or an early departure at age 63. The measure is intended to encourage the birth rate to maintain the balance of the system. The right also wants to toughen the text on SNCF or RATP pensions.
