Cran poll: “not the impression” that French society is racist
Laure Lavalette claims to be “shocked” the results of the Ipsos poll commissioned by the Representative Council of Black Associations, according to which nine out of ten black people in metropolitan France say they are victims of racial discrimination in their everyday lives. If the RN deputy from Var considers that this figure is “colossal” And “challenges our society a lot”She “doesn’t seem” that French society is racist for all that.
However, she acknowledges that “of course there is discrimination” and calls to “do more at school” to combat such discrimination. “There is probably a huge job still to be done within this society on these racisms, whatever they are”she says, referring in particular to the discrimination suffered by people with disabilities.
While 31% of French people say they would react badly if their child married a black person, Laure Lavalette assures that “skin color is absolutely not a problem” for her. On the other hand, she maintains that if one of her children were to marry “a very devout Muslim, it could [lui] to pose a problem”. “I don’t really want my daughter to end up in a niqab”she says.
Abortion in the Constitution: “No political group questions abortion”

The Senate said it was in favor of this constitutional bill brought by La France insoumise, and voted on first reading in the National Assembly in November. Laure Lavalette explains that she “abstained” to vote for the measure which it qualifies as “superfluous”.
In 2014, during the municipal election of Toulon, Laure Lavalette had voted the commitments of an association “Choose life”, opposed to abortion. This Wednesday, MP RN justifies herself and explains that she “had skimmed through this charter”. This document notably asked the signatories to support, in the senatorial and presidential elections, the candidates committing to repeal the law on abortion.
