On the evening of Tuesday February 14, article 2 of the pension reform was rejected in the National Assembly. The journalist Guillaume Daret, present on the set of 8 Hours, Wednesday, returns to this setback inflicted on the government on this article which related to the creation of a senior index.

On the evening of Tuesday, February 14, the National Assembly rejected article 2 of the pension reform, which related to the creation of a senior index which aimed to “force companies with more than 50 employees to publish statistics” on the employment of seniors, as explained by journalist Guillaume Daret, present on the 8 Hours set, Wednesday February 15. “Voted against: the left, the RN but also 38 Republican deputies who believe that it is useless and that it will put spokes in the wheels of businesses”continues the journalist.

“A real political slap”

This rejection has “obviously” caused the “stunned” and one “tremendous cold snap” in the majority, adds Guillaume Daret. “It’s obviously a real political slap, because it’s the first on this text in the hemicycle, but also because it was one of the guarantees that were put forward by the government to have this reform accepted”continues the journalist, specifying however that this article 2 is not “the heart of the reform”namely the postponement of the legal retirement age.
