Twenty days before the ceremony, the traditional Oscars lunch was held. The event was organized on Monday March 7, 2022 at Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel of Santa Monica, Los Angeles. Already, Penélope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem have offered a joyful posing session on the photocall. After fourteen years of love, the two actors still appear to be accomplices!
Chanel ambassador for three years now, it is naturally dressed in an outfit from the Parisian house that Penélope Cruz presented herself to photographers, not far from other personalities such as Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Billie Eilish, Guillermo del Toro or even Jessica Chastain. In her pink tweed mini dress, the 47-year-old Spanish star was visibly in a happy mood, arm in arm with her significant other.
It must be said that lovers have reason to rejoice: they are both nominated this year! Penélope Cruz could win the Best Actress award for her role in the film Madres Paralelaswhile Javier Bardem is nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance in the biopic Being the Ricardos. The couple formed by Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons is also in competition.
During a press conference in Madrid last month, Javier Bardem expressed his joy at being appointed at the same time as his wife: “I’m very happy for my nomination, but it wouldn’t have made sense without his, because it wouldn’t have been a celebration, and the fact that the two arrived at the same time seems magical.”
A perfectly synchronized couple
Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem have each already won an Oscar: he received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2008 for the film No Country for Old Men (see slideshow). The following year, the one who shared his life recently won in turn the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her character in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a Woody Allen film in which Javier Bardem also starred. Funny coincidence: this nomination for the Oscars, edition 2022, is the fourth for Madame, as for Monsieur.
Leo and Luna (11 and 8 years old), the couple’s children, could well see a new statuette take their place at home! Verdict on March 27 in Hollywoodwith the 94th Oscars ceremony, which returns to the essential Dolby Theater after a 2021 edition turned upside down by the health crisis.
