Accused of attacking his sister with a pen in the middle of the classroom, Bruno Beauchemin admitted to an investigator that he felt liberated after his gesture.

On the second day of the trial of Bruno Beauchemin, charged with assault, assault with injury and assault with a weapon against his sister, an investigator from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec came to testify about of the interrogation that the accused underwent on the evening of October 23, 2020.
For two hours, the investigators tried to find out why the accused had acted, but without obtaining answers from him.
The 60-year-old man was then brought to the videoconference room for his appearance, at the end of which he allegedly told the investigator: “You are right. Subconsciously, I made a decision and it freed me. »
Investigator Ricardo Hamel then made sure that the accused was talking about the act, to which Beauchemin replied in the affirmative.

Earlier, the sister of the accused came to testify about what she experienced during the attack on October 23, 2020.
The latter said that she did not see it coming until she felt a “very violent” blow near her ear. “I screamed for help to get me out of there,” the lady said.
In shock, she did not know what her brother would have hit her with or how many blows she had received.
The 65-year-old woman was later taken to hospital with head and neck injuries.
Two special constables who intervened after the attack to arrest the accused also came to testify, after which the Crown declared its case closed.
He will give his version of the facts
Bruno Beauchemin, who is defending himself, for his part told the jury that he was going to testify in his defense and thus give his version of the facts.
This means that the prosecutor Julien Beauchamp-Laliberté will be able to cross-examine the accused following his testimony which will begin this morning.
