This is the double penalty for the parents of Peggy Koscinzuck, killed at the age of 36 by his then companion, Rudy Pacault on July 28, 2011. Not only are they facing the release of the killer of their child, but the latter settled 5km from the home of his victim’s family, in the village of Frignicourt (Marne). Peggy’s mother, Françoise, and her husband, father-in-law of the deceased young woman, Philippe, testified in the columns of the Parisian-Today in France. “He stabbed my daughter in front of my eyes. It’s insurmountable to imagine that I can meet him every time I go shopping“, said the grieving mother. For his part, the defendant’s lawyer did not wish to react.
Françoise Algisi, psychologically exhausted and unable to sleep at night, does not understand how the culprit can rebuild his life near the scene of the tragedy, not to mention the conditions of his judgment. Rudy served 13 months in detention and then was “released pending his trial at the assizes which will finally take place at the end of the year… 2021“, specifies the daily newspaper. That year, it is sentenced to 15 years in prison, but appealed. He was released six months later from the Reims remand center, in June 2022, pending the new hearing.
For Peggy’s mother to know that the killer is going on with his life, “on the pretext that he can prove that he has a job and an address“, is inconceivable when he shattered the life of his daughter, and his own. Her husband explains their anxieties: “As soon as I hear a car pass in the driveway, I wonder if it’s him. I keep looking around when I go out. The night of the murder, he wanted to kill us too. I tell myself that he may want to finish what he has started.”
A night of horror
The couple witnessed the terrible tragedy. A night of horror eleven years ago but whose memory remains clear. While Peggy and Rudy’s children slept upstairs in their grandparents’ house, the couple returned from a night out. Rudy took a kitchen knife and went upstairs. “I was half asleep but I was aware that they had returned. I heard the kitchen drawer open, so far nothing out of the ordinary. Then screams. I recognized Peggy’s voice“, says the stepfather of the victim. The couple ran into the room, the killer wanted to attack them but Peggy intervened. The one who did not have “look crazy“ according to the parents’ account then descended with his daughter in his arms. She was 5 years old at the time. Help arrived but she did not survive her injuries.
The dramatic end of a couple who had been dating for fourteen years, when they were teenagers. The man had a mistressdiscovered the investigators, and this one was also named Peggy and it was at her place that the couple had dined the evening of the murder.
Peggy’s family is waiting for justice to do its job – their lawyer protests too slowly – shocked that the murderer has only spent nineteen months in prison in ten years and can settle near the house where the tragedy took place, the restraining order prevents it from being less than 5km away. The appeal trial is due to take place by the end of 2022.
