(Brossard) A septuagenarian died after a collision with a vehicle that occurred on Boulevard du Quartier at the intersection of Rue de Lancaster, in Brossard, in Montérégie.
The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning, when a motorist, a man in his twenties, allegedly hit a pedestrian in his seventies. The latter succumbed to his injuries.
A suspect was arrested and could face charges of dangerous driving causing death, said Officer Mélanie Mercille, spokesperson for the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department.
A perimeter has been set up and Boulevard du Quartier remains closed between Chemin des Prairies and Rue de Lancaster, while reconstructionists and investigators will go to the scene to analyze the scene.
