INGREDIENTS FOR 4 TO 6 PEOPLE

For the shortcrust pastry 125 g of butter (at room temperature); 250 g flour 50 g icing sugar; 1 egg; 1 pinch of salt

And also 60 g of butter (at room temperature); 80 g of brown sugar; 2-3 g of salt; 2 tbsp. vanilla powder

The shortcrust pastry:

– Mix the butter with the flour, the icing sugar and the egg.

– Salt and knead until it forms a ball.

– Spread it into a disk the size of your mold and place it inside.

– Keep in the freezer while you prepare the rest.

The pecan pie:

– Preheat the oven to 175°C (th. 6-7).

– Crush half of the pecans and leave the others whole.

– Beat the eggs, softened butter and brown sugar to obtain a creamy mixture.

– Add salt, maple syrup and vanilla.

– Add the crushed pecan nuts to the mixture and pour it over the dough just out of the freezer.

– Arrange the whole walnuts on top in a harmonious way and bake for 30 min.

Trick : In lack of time? You can also use store-bought shortcrust pastry.
