Training with mixed martial arts champion Georges St-Pierre, climbing the Montmorency Falls stairs with boxing champion Éric Martel-Bahoeli, supporting professional hockey player Jonathan Marchessault… Since the start of his election campaign , Éric Duhaime appears with stars of the sports world.

He proposed Tuesday to offer a tax credit of $ 500 for gym memberships, at the CrossFit center in Quebec, before participating in a workout.

Its press officer, Cédric Lapointe, is an accomplished CrossFit athlete, an endurance discipline that combines several sports such as weightlifting, athletics and gymnastics. He made headlines in 2021 because he continued to train in the gym where he was manager, in contravention of health rules. The government had ordered the closure of gyms to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The police had intervened. The young athlete, now 25, ended up going to train in the United States to be able to continue competing.

Earlier in the day, Éric Duhaime held a preparation session in anticipation of his first participation in the leaders’ debate on September 22 before hitting the road for the Quebec region. He also plans a visit for the inauguration of the constituency office of his candidate Mylène Bouchard in Montmorency and a meeting with activists in the evening.

Further details will follow.
