Pausing the ecophyto plan: beekeepers are mobilizing – (France 2)
After the farmers, it is the beekeepers who are mobilizing against the suspension of the Écophyto plan, because they are clearly against pesticides.

Their sector is also in crisis, and the reduction announced on the use of pesticides is a very bad signal according to them. “We have mortality, we keep the bees alive at arm’s length”, deplores a beekeeper. The cause is climate change, attacks by Asian hornets, but also imports of foreign honey, particularly from China and Ukraine.
Illegible labels
“We are no longer able to sell our honey, because we have import volumes which arrive at ridiculous prices”, explains a beekeeper. Today’s operation therefore aims to inform consumers and make them aware of their purchases. The labels are often illegible according to professionals. Today, more than half of the honey consumed in France comes from abroad.
