Host Paul Arcand will return to the helm of the morning show Since you have to get up from 98.5 FM starting January 8. Mr. Arcand retired from the airwaves in mid-November following an infection which forced his prolonged convalescence.
His absence was detrimental to the Cogeco group station, which saw its audience decline for the morning show even though it remains the most listened to in the Montreal region. Between two surveys from the Numeris firm covering the last period with Paul Arcand on the microphone and the first weeks without him, the show Since you have to get up went from 40.2% market share to 34.8%. Data for the month of December are not yet known.
Louis Lacroix took over the interim role. Paul Arcand will return to his position for only a few months. His retirement from 98.5 is planned for June 2024. He will then be replaced by Patrick Lagacé who now directs the homecoming show on 98.5 FM.
