Patrick Norman awaits us in the belly of the Musée national de la photographie in Drummondville, at the heart of the exhibition which retraces his musical life.

“It’s a long limo of memories,” he says, glancing around. On all the walls, photos tell of his journey over the past 50 years.
My eye catches an image from 1987, captured while he was singing the national anthem at the Montreal Forum. The next photo shows a young Patrick Norman with Nanette Workman. Further on, he smiles in other settings, with other faces. I recognize Jim Corcoran, Serge Laprade, Nicole Martin, Jean-Pierre Coallier, Manuel Tadros, Monsieur Pointu, whom he introduced to Gilbert Bécaud, he explains to me.
