This is the Quebec adaptation of the format LOL: Last One Laughingwhich will be broadcast in 240 countries and territories around the world through the popular video-on-demand service.
The concept of LOL: Who will have the last laugh? Is simple. Ten Quebec comedians locked in the same room try to accomplish the following mission: to make others laugh… without emitting the slightest laugh in return. Because if they laugh themselves, they undergo elimination and must leave the competition.
The show will be produced in Montreal by Attraction, the company behind Live from the universe, The Chiefs ! and Love is in the meadow.
In a press release issued by Prime Video on Tuesday, Patrick Huard shared his enthusiasm for this new adventure. “I am also very happy to animate because I would have no chance to last 10 minutes! Especially with the gang of comedians who accepted the challenge. It’s going to be madness! »
The identity of the participants has not yet been revealed. However, we know that LOL: Who will have the last laugh? will land on Prime Video later this year.
“Quebec has a reputation for being a leader in comedy, including hosting the largest international comedy festival, where comedians perform to always-full venues,” said the director of local Originals productions for Amazon. Studios, James Farrell.
Last month, Patrick Huard announced that he was leaving Tower this spring. He will pilot his final show on Thursday, April 7, after two seasons. TVA’s daily talk show will return to the air next fall with a new host.
