Former football player Patrice Evra was sentenced on Tuesday July 9 by the Nanterre Criminal Court for “abandonment of family” between May 2021 and September 2023, Agence Radio France learned, confirming information from Parisian. Patrice Evra was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended. He has appealed the sentence.

The former international, now 43, is being sued by his wife, with whom he had two children. Her lawyer told the Parisian that Patrice Evra owed 969,000 euros in arrears of maintenance to his client, Sandra Evra, since July 2020. Facts contested by the former player of the Blues (81 selections with the French team).

In addition to the 12 months of imprisonment with a two-year probationary period, the Nanterre Criminal Court also ordered Patrice Evra to pay 6,000 euros to the plaintiff: 4,000 euros for moral damages and 2,000 euros for legal costs.
