Pascal Obispo reassembled, his rant against environmental activists

Peaceful actions, but which do not please everyone. Indeed, since the beginning of October, many environmental activists have decided to bang their fists on the table. Or rather, throw mashed potatoes on boards known around the world. On October 14, two activists attacked, for example, the work of Vincent Van Gogh, The sunflowers at the National Gallery in London, throwing tomato soup in protest. An idea given by another activist who tarted the Mona Lisa of Leonard De Vinci, last May in Paris.

But this Sunday, October 23, other activists did it again. This time it’s the painting Millstones, by Claude Monet who was targeted by a man and a woman. The latter also spoke on social networks to explain the nature of her gesture.

An action not really understood

“People are starving, freezing, people are dying. We’re living in a climate catastrophe. And all you’re afraid of is tomato soup or mashed potatoes on a chalkboard. You know What are we afraid of? We are afraid because scientists tell us that we will not be able to feed our families after 2050”, she justified herself. While the association “Last generation”meanwhile, attempted to explain on Twitter: “Monet loved nature and captured its fragile beauty in his works. Why are many more people afraid of one of these images being damaged than of the destruction of our world itself?”. A defense that did not really convince… And in particular Pascal Obispo.

The artist indeed took up the “case” when he relayed the video of the two activists who attacked the work of Claude Monet, on his Instagram account. If the singer did not write a long text to express his anger, his legend, however, let understand his feeling by discovering the images. “Damn…what’s the deal?”, he lamented. It remains to be seen whether other actions of this type will be carried out in the coming days, in other museums around the world.
