The Pas-de-Calais department will go into red “rain-flood” alert from Thursday at 2 p.m. until Friday 6 a.m., Météo-France announced on Wednesday, November 8. The North department will be placed on “rain flood” alert on Thursday from 2 p.m.

This red vigilance in Pas-de-Calais is activated “due to expected high precipitation accumulations” between Thursday and Friday, “in continuation of exceptional accumulations for several days and a very worrying hydrological context in areas already affected by overflowing and flooded rivers”.

Schools in 74 municipalities from Pas-de-Calais “particularly impacted by flooding” which affect the department will be closed Thursday and Friday, also announced the prefecture of Pas-de-Calais earlier Wednesday evening.
