The Pas-de-Calais department was placed on orange alert on Sunday December 31 for risks of “rain-flood” and “flood” from 12 p.m., according to the latest Météo France bulletin. In the wake of the “Géraldine” depression, “the showers having started to circulate in a southwesterly flow will gradually intensify over Pas-de-Calais”, explains the forecasting organization. The “rain-flood” alert extends until the end of the day on Sunday and the alert for “flood” risks continues on Monday January 1st.

Of the 6,200 km of roads crisscrossing Pas-de-Calais, 475 km of roads had already been damaged by the major floods in November in Pas-de-Calais. Some roads were fractured or even collapsed. Pas-de-Calais will know precisely the extent of the damage in the spring. In the meantime, a forecast envelope of 50 million euros has just been released by the department to repair the network and the structures.
