Double vigilance for Pas-de-Calais. A few hours after placing the department on orange “rain-flood” vigilance, Météo-France reports it on orange “flood” vigilance, Monday, November 20. The forecaster predicts rain “temporarily supported” on the department and “significant floods expected”.

THE “the consequences of these new rains remain difficult to assess, the episode not being at all exceptional in itself, but the hydrological context in the Pas-de-Calais department requires particular vigilance to be observed”, according to the latest Météo-France bulletin. Several rivers are affected by orange vigilance: the Liane, the Hem, the Aa, the Lys, the Lawe and the Canche, according to the Vigicrues website.

“These rains will be accompanied by gusts reaching 80 to 90 km/h near the coasts.” Showers should ease early in the afternoon. Charente-Maritime is still on orange “flood” alert.
