Orange vigilance for floods has been lifted in Haute-Savoie, according to the Météo-France bulletin published Wednesday November 15 at 4 p.m. Four departments remain on orange alert for floods during the assessment given at 10 p.m.: Pas-de-Calais, Nord,in Vendée and Charente-Maritime. The departments of Isère, Savoie and Drôme returned to yellow vigilance on Wednesday evening.

France will also be crossed in the coming days by a new depression, called Frederico. She will cause a gale in the north of the country, with gusts which could be strong near the Channel coast during the day on Thursday., details Météo-France. The gusts should be around 60-80 km/h inland, reach 90 km/h in places notably near Poitou and in the English Channel, and up to 100 km/h on the Atlantic coast and the Channel coasts, notes the forecaster.

During the night from Thursday to Friday, the strong gale will reach Provence and Corsica. During the night, the wind could blow strongly with gusts of 110 km/h in the interior of Var and the Alpes-Maritimes, 120 km/h in Balagne [Haute-Corse] up to 140 km/h on terrain. The gusts will continue on Friday morning in the south-east of the country, before running out of steam in the afternoon.
