Particularly in shape, Salvatore Adamo, 79, took up a major challenge on France 2, in duet with Marina Kaye!

It was an event that affected the whole world. Like the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia, the 7.0 to 7.3 magnitude earthquake in 2010 in Haiti, or other natural disasters, the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023 shocked the entire planet. Indeed, this day, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.6 hit southern Turkey and northwestern Syria. More than 50,000 dead, thousands of homes destroyed, and terrible images that have gone around the world. An event that the two countries will unfortunately not soon forget. Given that this is the deadliest disaster the region has seen in centuries, according to our colleagues from France Televisions.

In this complicated situation, the inhabitants, still shocked by the event, need help. Whether it is to be rehoused, to eat, or even access to drinking water. Many countries are mobilizing to help them and France has decided to organize a concert event of solidarity this Tuesday, March 14. Organized at the Olympia and presented by Léa Salamé and Stéphane Bern, the event brought together many artists.

Salvatore Adamo in great shape with Marina Kaye

Whether Salvatore Adamo, Patrick Bruel, Zaz, Gims, Laurent Voulzy, André Manoukian, Claudio Capeo, Mentissa, Yaël Naïm, Chimène Badi, Maxime Le Forestier, Fazil Say, Fatma Saïd, Isabelle Boulay, Santa, Marina Kaye, Suzane, Ycare, or Soolking. During this evening, some did not hesitate to step out of their comfort zone and sing in a language that they do not necessarily master.

Like Salvatore Adamo in duet with Marina Kaye. If the latter masters the language of Shakespeare, this is not always the case for the one who is supposed to no longer be able to sing. The duo performed “Imagine” by John Lenon. A large part of the song was interpreted in French by the 79-year-old artist, but he took up the challenge at the very end of his interpretation, and slipped in a few words in English. A moving performance, hailed by the public.
