It was an event that affected the whole world. Like the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia, the 7.0 to 7.3 magnitude earthquake in 2010 in Haiti, or other natural disasters, the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023 shocked the entire planet. Indeed, this day, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.6 hit southern Turkey and northwestern Syria. More than 50,000 dead, thousands of homes destroyed, and terrible images that have gone around the world. An event that the two countries will unfortunately not soon forget. Given that this is the deadliest disaster the region has seen in centuries, according to our colleagues from France Televisions.
In this complicated situation, the inhabitants, still shocked by the event, need help. Whether it is to be rehoused, to eat, or even access to drinking water. Many countries are mobilizing to help them and France has decided to organize a concert event of solidarity this Tuesday, March 14. Organized at the Olympia and presented by Léa Salamé and Stéphane Bern, the event brought together many artists.
