A sharp increase, and a record since 1981. At 5 p.m., Sunday June 30, participation in the first round of the 2024 legislative elections amounts to 59.39%. This figure is up 20 points compared to the first round of the 2022 legislative elections at the same time (39.42%).

Some 49.5 million people registered on the electoral rolls, according to the latest figures from INSEE, are called to the polls to renew the 577 seats in the National Assembly.

In total, 4,010 candidates are running across France. This number has never been so low in almost thirty years, which can be explained in particular by a very short period between the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly and the holding of the vote.
