(Quebec) The PQ member for the riding of Duplessis, on the North Shore, Lorraine Richard, will announce Thursday in Sept-Îles that she will be leaving politics at the end of the current mandate.

Mme Richard, who will turn 63 in July, has been elected continuously since the 2003 election. . She is currently spokesperson for the Third Opposition Group for the issues of natural resources, northern development, the reform of the DYP and for seniors and caregivers.
In 2020, during the last leadership race, won by Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, Mme Richard had supported his fellow deputy Sylvain Gaudreault to replace former leader Jean-François Lisée as party leader.
