In 2022, radars brought in 928 million euros to the State. But where does all this money go? A small portion of the proceeds helps victims of road accidents.

At the Bobigny rehabilitation center (Seine-Saint-Denis), which takes care of many victims of road accidents, patients benefit from the largest technical platform in Île-de-France. This year, the establishment received around ten innovative devices, the cost of which amounts to 630,000 euros. These machines were financed by a small part of the revenue from motorway speed camera fines.

26 million euros donated to health establishments

“It’s obvious that the money we earned to equip ourselves we wouldn’t have had it any other way”, says Doctor Thierry Albert, head doctor of the COS Bobigny rehabilitation center. Patients also say they are satisfied with this technical platform which is “incredible and impressive“. Each year, 26 million euros from radar revenues are donated to health establishments.
