part of the humerus of a southern mammoth

In the reserves, we discover an enormous bone, by its size and its rarity!

Stéphane Madelaine, curator of Heritage, responsible for paleontological collections, presents us with an exceptional piece, due to the rarity and quality of its conservation and restoration. A southern mammoth humerus (non-woolly) the curator describes this exceptional piece in “On the traces of Prehistory” which could soon find its place in the museum’s collections, to be continued …!

“What do we know today about the” Frescoes of Tassili “?”

This is the title of the conference which will take place on Friday at 6.30 p.m. in the museum auditorium. This conference will be preceded by a signing session on the occasion of the preview release of the comic strip “Tassili: a free woman in the Neolithic”, in the presence of the scriptwriter Maadiar at 5.30pm and followed by a presentation by objects exceptionally taken out of the reserves, coming in particular from the Algerian Sahara.
