(Montreal) The 54-year-old woman who was found dead in the Montreal neighborhood of Parc-Extension on Sunday afternoon was the victim of a murder, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) confirmed Monday evening. .
This is therefore the second homicide to occur on SPVM territory this year, said police spokeswoman Jeanne Drouin.
On Sunday, the SPVM police were first called to intervene in a neighboring apartment for an armed scuffle, around 1:30 p.m.
“When the police arrived on site, they intervened with a 23-year-old man who was seriously injured in the upper body with a stab,” SPVM spokeswoman Véronique Dubuc said on Sunday. The man, who was conscious, was sent to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A 26-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.
“Additional information during the event allowed the verification of a second neighboring dwelling,” said officer Dubuc.
The investigation, conducted by the major crimes section of the SPVM, is continuing in this case.
