Park City World Cup | Mirela Rahneva wins skeleton gold

(Park City) Canada’s Mirela Rahneva won gold in the women’s skeleton event at the Park City World Cup on Thursday.


The two-time Olympian from Ottawa posted a combined time of 1:38.42 for her two runs. This is his fourth career World Cup victory.

Germany’s Tina Hermann won the silver medal with a total time of 1:38.52 while Britain’s Laura Deas completed the podium with a time of 1:38.55.

Alberta’s Jaclyn Laberge took the 14e rank and British Columbia’s Jane Channell finished in 19e position.

Germany’s Christopher Grotheer won the men’s race with a time of 1:36.26. South Korea’s Seunggi Jung (1:36.43) and Britain’s Marcus Wyatt (1:36.63) won silver and bronze respectively.

Alberta’s Blake Enzie clocked in at 16e level, followed by Saskatchewan’s Evan Neufeldt.
