Paris-Brest, act II! Ten days after their draw in Ligue 1 (2-2), Parisians and Brestois face each other again at the Parc des Princes, Wednesday January 7, in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. A competition which has eluded the capital club for two seasons now, with Mbappé’s teammates remaining eliminated in the round of 16 by Olympique de Marseille. To reach this stage of the competition, PSG had Revel, resident of Regional 1, for its entry into the running (0-9), before defeating Orléans in the round of 16 (1-4).
For their part, Pierre Lees-Melou’s teammates eliminated SCO Angers, leader of Ligue 2 (1-0), then beat Trélissac (N2) in pain (2-1) to obtain their ticket in eighth of final. Undefeated in their last eleven outings, the Brestois are walking on water and will seek to reach the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France for the third time in their history after 1983 and 2015.
