Paris Fashion Week | Colors in organized shapes at Issey Miyake

(Paris) The Japanese house Issey Miyake, straight in its sneakers associated with the most chic designer dresses, has dared to combine unusual colors and a very “freedom”. mix and match » for his women’s show at Paris Fashion Week on Friday.

The Japanese designer Satoshi Kondo, at the head of the women’s line, indicated in his note of intent that he had sought to “free himself from time and space, from history and cultures”.

This results in a fall-winter 2024/2025 collection that is visually very heterogeneous in materials, looks and colors.

A common sensation nevertheless emerges, that of envelopment, with draped dresses, play on volumes, through the multiplication of full outfits, hat, hood, capes, and jumpsuits, knitted or two-tone.

The creator of the Miyake house, in office since 2019, worked on “ mix and match », this art of mixing with beauty until creating your own style, your own personality.

This gives, for example, an outfit that elegantly combines colors that are usually separate: black and plum or black and navy blue.

The parade was also organized in a very “ mix and match », at the Immigration Museum in Paris, an Art Deco building where the general public rubbed shoulders for an hour with the colorful fauna of the international fashion caravan.

Born in 1984, Satoshi Kondo began as a member of the design team at Miyake, before being chosen by the master himself, who died in 2022.
