Suspects shot two money couriers from the Garda company carrying a large sum of money overnight from Monday to Tuesday. The event caused no injuries, but the two thieves fled with the loot.
At around 11 p.m., the two officers got out of an armored vehicle with several bags of money near the TD bank, at the corner of Jean-Talon and Querbes streets.
Two suspects would then have fired a shot in their direction, to then spray them with cayenne pepper. They left the scene on foot after taking the money.
“The two employees were not injured, but had to be decontaminated because of the cayenne pepper,” explains Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The investigators viewed the surveillance cameras in order to analyze the circumstances of this robbery.
There are currently no arrests in this case.
