He was more than 52 seconds ahead of his closest pursuer, Swede Zebastian Modin. The Albertan led a spectacular race and was never really worried. It was her last career individual competition at the Paralympic Games.

McKeever has won three medals, all gold, since the start of the Beijing Games. With his 20 medals, the Albertan joins swimmer Benoit Huot as the second most Paralympic medalist in Canadian history, just one medal behind Chantal Petitclerc and Michael Edgson.

McKeever will have the chance to join them at the top of the list as he takes part in the mixed relay event on Saturday.
